Some 1,100 people have been recruited to work in the public healthcare sector since the start of 2009, and the Health Ministry says it still has another 2,600 job vacancies to be filled immediately.
All these are part of the ministry’s commitment to create 4,500 jobs in the next two years.
Of the 1,100 jobs taken up so far, the ministry says 60 per cent or 660 jobs were filled by Singapore citizens.
