Easter is one of the greatest feasts for the Christian. Easter is widely known as the day when Jesus resurrect from the death after being crucified for three days. Easter is always celebrated on Sunday between March 22 and April 25 while the crucifixion day itself is celebrated on Friday, two days before the Easter Day, also called as Good Friday. Many kinds of traditions are done during the Easter, but different countries usually have different traditions to celebrate the Easter.

US has unique tradition to celebrate Easter. People in New York and other cities in the US hold some street parades led by a man holding a cross or candle, and the people wear some unique clothes and bonnets on Sunday of the Easter Day. Kids and teens play the Easter Egg Roll game, a game in which some eggs painted by colorful patterns being hidden and the kids have to look for the eggs. Delicious foods consisting of baked potatoes, ham and vegetables are served during the Easter in the USA.

Different with the US, Argentinian people conduct a carnival and wear ponchos and bonnets to celebrate the Easter. They also ripe a kind of bean and prepare a large amount of beers. The climax of the festival is when women in traditional ruffled skirts and ponchos wearing a starch-watered mask. They sing and dance together until the carnival is over.

In Italy, one day before the Good Friday, no bells are allowed to ring. The bells which usually ring everyday remain silent for three days. When Sunday comes, all of the bells ring to signify the resurrection of Jesus, and all people hug and kiss each other to express their happiness and joys. On the Easter day, children collect the colorful eggs being blessed by the priest which are hidden all over the houses. Some traditional foods such as roasted baby lamb and particular salad are also served special for the Easter Day.

The Good Friday is more important than the Easter Day for people in Papua New Guinea. Most people go to the church early in the morning and present some musical instruments, and then go home to have a feast with their family. On Sunday, the people get back to the church and hold the other church service. When all of this over, they come back home and eat what they still get from the feast on the last Friday.
