Malaysia Public Holidays 2011 Calendar
Malaysia Public Holidays 2011
As a neighbouring country with many similarities, Malaysia share a number of 2011 public holidays with Singapore, albeit sometimes with different date for celebrating a same holiday. Malaysia also share a number of common holidays with Indonesia, specially Islamic holidays.
However, Malaysia is unique in that they have a lot of local public holidays for certain states. Most of the local holidays are related to the ruler, (e.g. birthday, installation, etc), while some are religious (Good Friday, Isra Miraj), and some others are traditional /customs (Gawai Dayak, Kaamatan Festival).

When public holiday fall on Saturday, there should be a replacement of annual leave of Friday is a holiday because the Saturday 4 hours we worked we have replaced it during the weekday. So Saturday is also consider a rest day for us and not an off day, therefore it shall be replaced.

I think it depends on individual company policies. Some company will replace it to Friday, some would probably add one day to the annual leave, but some companies give only Saturday day-off.

Could you please answer the following:
If a public holiday falls on a Saturday, then Monday is a working day?
If it falls on a Sunday, then is Monday a holiday?
If falls on Saturday, it depends on company policy.
If falls on Sunday, usually Monday is holiday.

Hello,
I’d like to take out some friends to Tioman in the middle of May, but I’m not sure if Vesak is a national holiday for all of Singapore or just government departments. Can you tell me please.
Thank you.
Bryan
