Philippines Holidays 2012 Calendar
Philippine Holidays 2012
In Philippines, aside from national holidays which are celebrated nationwide, there are local holidays depending on the demographics of the population. National holidays are further differentiated between Regular Holidays and Nationwide Special Holidays. There are three nationwide special holidays in Philippines, which are Ninoy Aquino Day, All Saints Day, and Last Day of the Year.
Below is a list of Philippines 2012 holidays. See also Philippines Holidays 2011.
Some Philippines holidays may have different dates from year to year. Some due to different calendar used for calculation (Chinese New Year using lunar calendar while Eid il Fitr is using Islamic calendar), and some due to calculations based on days of the week (eg. Easter, heroes day).
Note also that many of holidays are celebrated / observed on Monday instead of the holiday date itself.

Wow, do people in the Philippines really celebrate the Good Friday by whipping themselves? Weird but curious
about 11 months ago
Their Easter and Good Friday celebrations are fairly archaic with the whipping and all. Still seems like a fun time as a tourist though…
