The marathon itself saw the rise of its participants which started from 6,000 in 2002 to a staggering 24,000 in 2005. Last year, participants of Singapore Marathon 2010 are at 60,000.

Singapore Marathon 2011 Start Point

It will feature three starting points, including a brand new route that takes runners on a scenic run around some of Singapore’s well-known landmarks, before finishing at the Padang. There’s no better, and more challenging, way to see city’s marquee sights.
The full marathon will kick off at the Orchard Road at 5:00am and will end at St. Andrew’s road. The half-marathon will start at Sentosa Island at 6:30am and will also end at St. Andrew’s road.

Singapore Marathon 2011 Route
Full marathon participants will be treated with great scenery when they run down Orchard Road. Runners will run past historic landmarks like the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts Building. After that will be the busy Chinatown and the Esplanade.
Half marathon runners will get a glimpse of Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park at Resorts World Sentosa. They will be greeted with big smiles by Shrek, Po of Kung Fu Panda and other popular cartoon characters, making the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore the first marathon to take place in the new Universal Studios Singapore.
10km runners will run past the Financial District of Singapore before passing through the new Helix Bridge.
Singapore Marathon Run For Good
The Standard Chartered Bank also established a charity program called the Run for good (RFG). In 2011, for the first time at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, there is an option whereby runners can raise funds for their preferred charities through GIVE.sg, the Official Charity Platform.

If i stay in Redhill, how to go to the starting point?
Take a cab. Otherwise, check out the racer pack they distribute closer to the race day. There will be information about how to reach the start points. For example, there maybe some buses designated for racers.
