Egypt public holidays are group into a few classifications. There are some public holidays celebrated by the entire population and some pubic holidays observed by certain groups only. Since Islam is the state religion, the Islamic holidays are observed by all Egyptians. While Eastern Christmas is a national holiday, other Christian holidays are not.
