Boryeong Mud Festival – Get Dirty in the Special South Korean Festival

On the second week of July every year, a bizzare festival called Boryeong Mud Festival is held. People throw mud to each other as the tradition of the festival without feeling mucky or disturbed. The first mud festival was celebrated in 1998, and less than 10 years later, it could attract about 2.2 million citizens and tourists to attend the festival. Though, some controversies related to the tradition of throwing mud in the festival occur, one of them involving a group of students suffering rashes and red bumps after joining the festival.
